Apollo Jack Barron

Big surprise.  John and Sarah went with a name related to flight.  For those of you who don’t know, John is a helicopter pilot.  He is still the cutest puppy ever.  And he’s so tiny!

Chuck and Mike

November 20, 2007 · Leave a Comment

This post is in NO WAY my endorsement for Mike Huckabee. (I’m actually one of those radical Ron Paul people who will end up voting for Fred Thompson.) But that is beside the point.

I’m laughing so hard at this right now. Is this cheesy or what?

Maybe I need sleep.

The thing that really makes me laugh is knowing that John would watch this and reply, “Your mom is Chuck Norris approved.” (Even if he was in a room all by himself.)

I’m still alive

November 17, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I know I’ve pretty much dropped off the face of the earth.  I’ve been sick.

The first half of the week I spent in the hospital.  I started bruising all over the place.  When the bruise on my arm started spreading really rapidly, we made the decision to go into to ER.  After 12 hours of tests they still hadn’t found anything, so they admitted me for observation.  On top of it my heart was racing, my blood pressure was through the roof, and I was having a serious panic attack.  On top of that, I had a very serious kidney infection.

They started me on IV antibiotics and after four days of observation they still hadn’t found anything.  I started having major neurological symptoms and a high pressure headache.  Both an MRI and an EEG showed up normal.  (This is no shock as they always do when you have Pseudotumor Cerebri.)   They sent me home and I made an appointment to see my neurologist.

So I’m spending the weekend with major headaches, eye problems, and the stress of thinking about dealing with my head all over again.  Yuck!

Fire, Morning Sickness, and a trillion little reasons not to trust anyone with your money.

November 6, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Uhh…so I don’t know what the big deal is.  Everyone is going on and on about the credit industry.  I mean, it is just one trillion dollars.  It isn’t like it is a big amount or anything.  I continue to have no trust in the banking system.  (I’m a radical like that.)  I mean, when a bank has to tell you they are insured by the government to make you feel better about leaving your money with them, it is pretty sad.  I don’t trust the government with the money I have to give them.  Why would I trust them with the money I don’t?

I’m having terrible morning sickness.  No, I’m not pregnant.  They are messing with my hormones big time right now and thanks to that I pretty much can’t eat before noon.  Well, I can, I just have to be willing to have that meal twice.  (If you know what I mean.)

We had a blast at the big bonfire last weekend.  A ton of us trucked it to my cousin’s house out in the country.  It is funny to see him and his friends do their redneck things.  If there are three things my family appreciates they are fire, food and booze.  And we had tons of all those things.  Plus some great conversation.

Speaking of fire, my siblings built a firepit in our backyard last weekend.  It is nice.  They did a fantastic job and it only took them one afternoon.

Work is so much better with the Avett Brothers in the background.
