Oink oink!

So my parents are afraid I’m going to catch swine flu and die due to my weakened immune system.  I truly appreciate their love and concern for me.  However, I’m not worried about swine flu at all.

First off, and most importantly, God is in control.  What happens, happens.  He has an amazing and exciting plan for my life.  I’m just here for the ride.   “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”  -1 Peter 5:7  God didn’t put me on this earth to worry.  He put me on this earth to live.

Second, according to the CDC 36,000 Americans a year die from influenza.  (Hundreds of thousands all over the world are killed.)  Where is all the media coverage on that?  That kind of puts the swine flu scare into perspective.

Third, in most cases swine flu causes only mild symptoms and the infected person makes a full recovery without requiring medical attention and without the use of antiviral medicines.  The first person to die in the US was a someone from Mexico who was transported here due to their rapidly failing health.  The World Health Organization has yet to release any of the ages of those who have died.

Finally, I think this is all just a part of the vast government conspiracy to make us think we need international governing bodies to regulate our lives.

    Hi Jenny,

I stumbled onto your site while googling for honey bee pictures for my new Ubuntu background…You posted a question concerning the taste of honey bees back in June 08 and it had a nice pic of a bee.

The answer to your June 08 question is yes! Bees taste a little like honey…kinda crunchy but excellent dipped in chocolate.

Any way…I saw todays post and could not agree more. You would think with all the information at our finger tips people would hop online and get the REAL information…not the scare tactics we see on TV.

Also, I agree with your comment about God and worrying about stuff. Worrying has never changed the outcome of anything…ever! My favorite passage in the bible is when God says…BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM! Getting goose bumps just thinking about it…Give it up to the Lord in prayer and let it be!
I do have one word of caution…God does expect us to take care of ourself. We are not to be foolhardy with this life that we are given. There are doctors, hospitals and medicine that the Lord has provided for us to better our lives when we are healthy and to heal us when we are sick.

My wife tells a funny story about two guys in a canoe that discover they are heading towards a waterfall…One guy says quick let’s say a prayer for the Lord to save us. The other guy says you pray. I’ll keep rowing!

    God bless
